We have a strong sense of community at Bongaree Dental, and every year around this time like to give back to our local community. This year our team has decided to support Brisbane City Councils Homeless Connect project.
This project is run by some very special volunteers and offers Brisbane’s homeless the opportunity to have a health check, get a haircut, be given some personal hygiene products such as tooth care packs and wipes, deodorant etc and very importantly learn about possible housing options.
Our team will be taking donations mid 2016 of personal hygiene items and shoes to pass along to Homeless Connect and we are also having a Knitting / Crocheting drive that starts now. The girls are particularly excited about the Knitting and Crocheting Drive, and will all be busy making their 20cm by 20cm squares over the next eight months that will make blankets for the homeless.
We welcome our patients and community to help with either donations of knitted and crocheted squares, shoes or personal hygiene products. We recognise no one plans this life for themselves and can only imagine the hardships these people face on a daily basis. We are very happy to help in any way possible and hope to bring a smile to their faces with our donations.
